About this opportunity
The Air Force Sustainment Center at Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma is seeking to procure repair services for B-1B Torque Motors through a sole source contract award to Ametek (CAGE Code 97424). The procurement involves repair services for two types of torque motors (models 8318 and 8319) along with associated non-functional failure analysis, operations and administration support, surge capacity, and data requirements. The contracting strategy follows FAR 6.302-1 "Only One Responsible Source" justification, as no other sources are identified and approved for this specialized repair work. The government plans to issue a commercial firm fixed price requirements contract with a base year plus three one-year options. Interested parties may submit capability statements, proposals, or quotations by the October 22, 2025 deadline, and all submissions will be considered by the agency.
This opportunity does not utilize any set-aside designations and identifies Ametek as both the intended sole source awardee and current approved source for these repairs. The contract structure spans four years with a performance period from December 10, 2026 through December 9, 2030, consisting of a base year followed by three option years. Annual repair quantities include 50 units of the 8318 torque motor and 60 units of the 8319 torque motor, with consistent quantities maintained across all contract years. The procurement falls under NAICS code 336413 for Other Aircraft Parts and Auxiliary Equipment Manufacturing and PSC code J016 for maintenance and repair of aircraft components and accessories. While specific dollar values are not disclosed in this pre-solicitation notice, the multi-year structure and specialized nature of B-1B bomber component repairs suggests a significant contract value supporting critical military aircraft sustainment operations.
