About this opportunity
The Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime is seeking to procure 30 units of repair modules for strain equipment under NSN 7H-4730-016145070. This procurement falls under the hose, pipe, tube, lubrication, and railing fittings category and represents a sole-source acquisition due to the government's lack of data rights and the uneconomical nature of reverse engineering or purchasing data rights. The approved source for this requirement is Federal Resources Supply Co. (1Q3Z9), and the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only this single source. The delivery terms specify FOB Origin, and the notice was posted on July 1, 2025, with a due date of July 21, 2025. However, all responsible sources have 45 days from the publication date to submit proposals, quotations, or capability statements, with a reduced 30-day window if an award is issued under an existing Basic Ordering Agreement.
This procurement does not utilize any set-aside designations and is structured as a sole-source acquisition with Federal Resources Supply Co. as the identified contractor. The quantity requirement is specified as 30 units of the repair module, with delivery terms set as FOB Origin. The government has determined that this acquisition does not fall under FAR Part 12 commercial item policies based on market research, though interested parties may identify commercial item alternatives within 15 days of the notice. The technical data package version is 002 with reference number 060DH-604-FR, and the procurement follows standard government specifications available through the DoD Single Stock Point system. While no specific contract value is mentioned, the government's decision not to compete this requirement is based on the proprietary nature of the item and the cost considerations associated with obtaining necessary data rights.
