CONTINUATION OF PRESOLICITATION NOTICE:
Project No. 632-12-106, Renovate Sterile Processing Department at the Northport VA Medical Center, Northport, New York 11768.
Contractor shall furnish labor and materials and perform work for renovation of approximately 5,000 square feet of existing space located on the first floor of the main hospital building as required by drawings and specifications. Work includes general construction, alterations, mechanical and electrical work, asbestos abatement, necessary removal of existing construction, and certain other items.
The work shall be performed in 11 phases, with the Sterile Processing Department remaining occupied and operational for the entire duration of the project. The work in the kitchen located below the Sterile Processing Department shall be performed with additional phasing, with the kitchen remaining occupied and operational for the entire duration of the project. Certain work activities including, but not limited to, construction of temporary construction partitions, construction of barriers and enclosures for asbestos abatement, and interruption of utility services including electricity and medical gases shall be performed after hours.
The contract completion time is seven hundred thirty (730) calendar days after issuance of the Notice to Proceed.
This procurement is a 100% set-aside for a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). Prospective contractors must be registered and certified in the Center for Veterans Enterprise (CVE) VetBiz Registry database prior to submitting a bid: http://www.vip.vetbiz.gov Prospective contractors must be registered and current in the System for Award Management (SAM) database prior to contract award: https://www.sam.gov/portal/public/SAM/
Bids will only be accepted from SDVOSBs that are determined to be responsible and responsive contractors. Prospective contractors must be approved under NAICS Code 236220, size standard of $33.5 Million. The cost range for this project is between $2,000,000 and $5,000,000.
A bid bond will be required, and performance and payment bonds will be required upon award of contract. The solicitation will be released on or around March 18, 2013. The bid submittal address, date and time will be included in the solicitation. Specifications and plans will be available for download from the FedBizOpps website at https://www.fbo.gov Amendments to this solicitation will be posted on the FedBizOpps website as well. Bidders are responsible for obtaining and acknowledging all amendments to this solicitation prior to the time of bid closing.
