About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 8 is seeking a service-disabled veteran-owned small business to renovate the interior corridors of Building 1 on the 2nd and 3rd floors. The project encompasses comprehensive upgrades to wall, floor, and ceiling finishes, including complete removal of existing materials and replacement with updated finishes. Specific renovation requirements include replacing lighting systems, relocating and reinstalling fire alarm devices, sprinklers, and other utilities, and addressing potential asbestos abatement and mold remediation. All new interior finishes must strictly comply with VA Design Guidelines Criteria. The pre-solicitation notice was posted on January 13, 2025, with responses due by January 27, 2025, categorized under the Commercial and Institutional Building Construction NAICS code 236220.

The contract opportunity is specifically set aside for service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses, focusing on construction of hospitals and infirmaries (PSC Category Y1DA-P). While specific award values are not disclosed in the pre-solicitation notice, the comprehensive scope of work suggests a significant renovation project involving multiple building systems and environmental remediation. The project will require detailed coordination with VA facilities management and adherence to strict design and safety standards. Potential contractors should be prepared to demonstrate expertise in complex institutional building renovation, with particular attention to healthcare facility requirements. The project's timeline and specific implementation details will likely be further clarified in the full solicitation document.
