About this opportunity

The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation (DLA Aviation) is soliciting a federal contract opportunity for removable storage, classified under the NAICS category of All Other Miscellaneous General Purpose Machinery Manufacturing. The solicitation, posted on March 19, 2025, with responses due by May 14, 2025, requires potential contractors to obtain engineering source approval from the design control activity to maintain part quality. Unique design capabilities, engineering skills, and manufacturing knowledge are critical evaluation criteria for this procurement. Existing approved sources retain critical data rights and technical knowledge essential to maintaining product standards. Offers from sources other than government-approved suppliers must undergo a Source Approval Review (SAR) and be accompanied by an authorized dealer/distributor letter, with failure to provide this documentation rendering the proposal non-responsive.

This solicitation does not have a specific set-aside designation and appears to be open to multiple potential contractors who can meet stringent technical requirements. While specific award values are not detailed, the procurement involves IT and telecom end-user equipment and support services, categorized under PSC code 7E20 for help desk and workspace productivity tools. The requirement is being solicited under Emergency Acquisition Flexibilities, suggesting potential urgent or national defense-related needs. Contractors must demonstrate compliance with Buy American and Free Trade Agreement regulations, and provide annual representations and certifications. The procurement process includes provisions for national defense priority rating and involves technical evaluation by cognizant government engineering activities to ensure the highest quality and technical compliance for the specified equipment or services.
