About this opportunity
The United States Air Force, specifically the Air Force Sustainment Center at Tinker AFB, is seeking a contractor for the remanufacture of KC-135 Refueling and Submerged Pumps. The procurement will be a Firm Fixed Price Requirements type contract with a basic year and two option years. The solicitation involves three primary line items: fuel transfer pumps with specific dimensions and functions, all manufactured from aluminum alloy. Qualification requirements are strict, with the Source Development Office requiring engineering source approval to maintain part quality. The government intends to issue a formal solicitation on May 11, 2025, with interested parties having 15 days to identify their capability to satisfy the requirements. All potential vendors must specify their business size, ownership type, and nationality when responding.
The contract includes quantities of 50 units for the first pump type and 1 unit each for the two additional pump types per year. Electronic procedures will be used for the solicitation, and no specific set-aside has been designated. While no specific award value is mentioned, the contract will cover remanufacturing specialized aircraft fuel system components with precise engineering specifications. The contract period spans a basic year with two additional one-year option periods. An ombudsman is available at 405-736-3273 to address contractor concerns during the proposal development phase, though they will not participate in proposal evaluation. Vendors must comply with all solicitation requirements and understand that the government will consider all responsible sources capable of meeting the technical specifications for these specialized aircraft pump components.
