About this opportunity
The United States Air Force through Air Force Sustainment Center (AFSC) at Tinker AFB is seeking a contractor to remanufacture C-5 Dual Fuel Boost Pumps (NSN: 2915-00-489-9215RK, Part Number 271700-4) through a comprehensive process of disassembly, cleaning, inspection, maintenance, reassembly, testing, and finishing to restore units to like-new condition. This military-unique acquisition is considered unsuitable for commercial products and requires contractors to provide all labor, facilities, equipment, tools, and materials necessary for remanufacturing operations. Qualification requirements apply, and interested vendors must submit a Source Approval Request (SAR) package and undergo an Initial Production Evaluation (IPE) if not previously approved. The government will award a firm-fixed price IDIQ contract with a three-year basic period. The solicitation is estimated to be issued on January 26, 2026, with a closing/response date of March 31, 2026.
This procurement is a total small business set-aside, making it exclusively available to qualified small business concerns. Current approved or potential sources include Airtronics, Inc., Texas Aerospace Services, Thomas Instruments, and other firms previously identified in the government's procurement records. The Best Estimated Quantity ranges from a minimum of 15 units to a maximum of 50 units, with a delivery schedule requiring 15 pumps every 60 days to DLA Distribution Depot Oklahoma at Tinker AFB. Award will be based on factors including the contractor's technical capability, compliance with Statement of Work requirements, quality assurance processes, supply chain risk management, and cybersecurity compliance. Early deliveries are acceptable, and the contract includes provisions for over-and-above remanufacturing work to be negotiated separately during contract performance.
