About this opportunity

The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Air Force Sustainment Center is conducting market research to identify potential sources for remanufacturing 55 C-130 Fuel Boost Pumps (NSN 2915-01-394-8476, P/N RR54860A-1) at Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma. This Sources Sought Synopsis is being used to determine whether the requirement can be structured as a competitive procurement or designated as a small business set-aside, with the government considering the possibility of breaking the requirement out by individual airframe. Interested vendors must complete a comprehensive Source Approval Request (SAR) package demonstrating their technical capabilities, quality assurance systems, and compliance with government standards through three approval categories: Category I for sources with recent experience repairing the exact item, Category II for those with similar item experience, and Category III for sources with technical data rights but no prior repair history. The evaluation will be conducted by the Engineering Support Activity and requires extensive documentation including technical data rights certification, process sheets, inspection methods, and NADCAP certifications for specific manufacturing processes. The response submission deadline is July 3, 2025, with interested parties required to submit through the DoD SAFE system.

This procurement does not currently utilize any set-aside designation, though the government is specifically interested in responses from various small business categories including Small Businesses, Small Disadvantaged Businesses, 8(a) businesses, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses, HUBZone Small Businesses, and Women-Owned Small Businesses. No incumbent contractors or current service providers are identified in the documentation. The government has not disclosed any budget ranges or estimated award values for this requirement. The specific quantity requirement is 55 fuel boost pump units for remanufacturing services. Notably, the government does not currently possess associated technical data to provide to potential sources, meaning vendors would need to independently acquire the necessary technical documentation to support their proposals. This market research effort carries no guarantee of a future contract award and no funding is currently available to support the information gathering process.
