About this opportunity

The United States Air Force Materiel Command Air Force Sustainment Center is conducting market research to identify potential sources for remanufacturing B-52 jet engine fuel pumps (NSN 2915015339141, P/N 8439). The Supply Chain Management Squadron at Tinker Air Force Base seeks to determine if this requirement can be competitively awarded or set aside for small businesses. Potential sources must complete a comprehensive Source Approval Request (SAR) package demonstrating technical proficiency, quality assurance capabilities, and the ability to repair items to original equipment manufacturer (OEM) standards. Vendors must submit electronic responses through DoD SAFE, providing business information including CAGE code, NAICS code, and small business certifications. The market research response deadline is April 23, 2025, with the government emphasizing that this is a research effort and does not guarantee a contractual commitment.

The opportunity is designated as an 8(a) Sole Source procurement, specifically welcoming responses from small business categories including Small Disadvantaged Businesses, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, HUBZone, and Women-Owned Small Businesses. The estimated order is for 25 units with a total value of $85,860.50, to be performed at Tinker AFB in Oklahoma. The contractor will be responsible for supply chain management, logistics, parts forecasting, and delivering remanufactured fuel pump units in like-new condition. Potential sources must adhere to strict qualification requirements outlined in the 848 RQR June 2017 specification, which categorizes repair sources into different levels based on prior repair experience. The government may consider breaking the requirement out by airframe, indicating potential flexibility in the final acquisition strategy.
