About this opportunity
The Naval Air Systems Command has issued a Special Notice related to the Contracted Maintenance, Modification, Aircrew and Related Services (CMMARS) program. Originally established on January 31, 2019, the Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division in Orlando, Florida awarded 20 Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contracts under full and open competition. This notice pertains to the current status of those existing contracts and clarifies the Government's intentions regarding future procurement activities in this area. The notice is categorized under air transportation support activities and aircraft maintenance services according to the NAICS and PSC classifications. Interested parties should continue monitoring SAM.gov for any updates or new opportunities that may arise.
The primary objective of this Special Notice is to inform contractors and potential bidders that the Government does not intend to solicit a follow-on IDIQ contract under the original CMMARS program. Rather than issuing new solicitations immediately, contractors are advised to maintain awareness of future procurement activities by regularly checking SAM.gov for announcements and updates. There are no specific deadlines or submissions required in response to this notice, as it serves as a clarification of the Government's contracting strategy going forward. The original 2019 awards remain active, and the full and open competition criteria that governed that solicitation established the baseline for contractor eligibility. Contractors with capabilities in aircraft maintenance, modification, aircrew services, and related support functions should monitor Government sources for any alternative procurement approaches or opportunities that may be announced in place of the traditional CMMARS follow-on.
