About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure 20 Engine Regulators (NSN 7R-2925-015452717-QE) with a critical focus on engineering source approval and technical data quality. This pre-solicitation notice indicates a specialized procurement requiring government-approved sources with unique design capabilities and manufacturing expertise for a flight-critical component. Potential contractors must submit comprehensive technical documentation through the NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support Source Approval Information Brochures, with proposals due by June 16, 2025. The government intends to negotiate with a single source under FAR 6.302-1 authority, though interested parties may identify their capabilities within 45 days of publication. Evaluation will primarily assess technical competence, manufacturing readiness, and ability to meet stringent engineering and quality requirements specific to this engine regulator.
This procurement does not involve a specific set-aside designation and will be processed through the Naval Supply Systems Command. The contract appears focused on obtaining a highly specialized engine electrical system component for aircraft applications, with an emphasis on maintaining existing technical data rights and manufacturing knowledge. While no specific award value is disclosed, the quantity of 20 units suggests a targeted, precision procurement. Delivery is specified as FOB Origin, and the government will accept early and incremental deliveries. Potential contractors must demonstrate extensive technical expertise, with alternative sources required to undergo rigorous qualification procedures approved by the cognizant government engineering activity. The procurement process allows for comprehensive review of technical capabilities, with the ultimate selection dependent on meeting exacting government specifications for this flight-critical component.
