About this opportunity

The U.S. Department of State's National Foreign Affairs Training Center (NFATC), under its Directorate of Diplomatic Tradecraft and Emerging Technology, has published a Special Notice regarding the acquisition of conference registrations for its students. The notice announces the agency's intent to negotiate on a sole source basis with Social Media Examiner for registrations to the Social Media Marketing World (SMMW) 2026 conference. This acquisition is being conducted under FAR Part 12 streamlined procedures for commercial products and services and is classified under NAICS Code 541990. The notice was posted on March 10, 2026, with a deadline of March 17, 2026, for submissions. The anticipated award will be in the form of a firm-fixed price purchase order.

The primary objective is to secure 32 all-access conference registrations for students enrolled in The Social Media Forum (PY364), a professional development course, with the conference scheduled for April 28 – May 1, 2026, in Anaheim, California. Vendors who believe they can meet the government's requirements may submit a capability statement by March 17, 2026, at 12:00 P.M. Eastern Time to the Contract Specialist, Abdul Safi, at SafiAM@state.gov. There are no set-aside requirements for this acquisition, and interested parties must submit their responses electronically. The government has determined that Social Media Examiner is the only reasonably available source because SMMW 2026 is the exclusive provider of conference access and is the sole offering providing appropriate professional development content on digital and social media topics for the Spring 2026 course. The government reserves the right to award to the named vendor without further competition, though responses to this notice will be considered at the agency's discretion.
