About this opportunity
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Engineering District Baltimore is seeking a small business contractor to provide refuse and recycling collection services for public recreation areas and administrative complexes at Cowanesque Lake and Hammond Lake facilities in Pennsylvania. The solicitation focuses on comprehensive waste management services covering dams, campgrounds, maintenance areas, public picnic areas, and boat ramps located near Lawrenceville and Tioga, PA. The contract falls under the Solid Waste Collection NAICS category (562111) and specifically targets housekeeping and trash/garbage collection services. This procurement is classified as a total small business set-aside, which means only small businesses are eligible to compete for the contract. The solicitation was posted on December 6, 2024, with proposals due by December 20, 2024, indicating a relatively short response window for interested contractors.
The contract will require waste collection services across multiple recreational sites spanning approximately nine total miles between the two lake locations. While specific award values are not disclosed in the solicitation, the scope suggests a comprehensive service contract for regular refuse and recycling management. The total small business set-aside indicates the government's intent to support smaller business enterprises in delivering these essential environmental maintenance services. The performance locations include Cowanesque Lake facilities situated five miles west of Lawrenceville and Hammond Lake facilities located four miles south of Tioga, both in Pennsylvania. Potential bidders should carefully review the specific site requirements, understand the geographical spread of service locations, and prepare responsive proposals that demonstrate capability to manage waste collection across these public recreational sites.
