About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure 44 metallic rectifiers under NSN 7H-6130-015334815 with Technical Data Package (TDP) Version 005. The goods will be delivered to two DLA Distribution locations: New Cumberland, PA and Tracy, CA. The proposed contract action will be solicited and negotiated with potentially only one source under FAR 6.302-1 authority, indicating a sole-source procurement strategy. All responsible sources are invited to identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement within 45 days of publication (30 days if awarded under an existing Basic Ordering Agreement). The government will evaluate responses to determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement, with the final determination remaining solely within their discretion.
This pre-solicitation notice is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside, meaning only small businesses can compete for the contract. The specific rectifier part number is 900-42250, and the government has determined that the rights to use the data needed to purchase or repair this part are not owned by the government and cannot be easily obtained or reverse-engineered. Interestingly, the government has noted that most technical documents can be accessed through ASSIST-Online, with alternative methods available for those without internet access, including contacting the DODSSP ASSIST Help Desk. While no specific award value is mentioned, the procurement involves 44 units of the metallic rectifier. Potential offerors are also advised that the government is not using FAR Part 12 policies for commercial item acquisition, but interested parties may still identify commercial item solutions within 15 days of the notice.
