Added: May 27, 2009 12:12 pm THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE ONLY TO CONTRACTORS UNDER PUBLIC LAW 109-461. COMPETITION IS LIMITED TO SDVOSB'S PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORITY SET FORTH IN 38 USC 8127(d).

RECOVERY ACT - Contractor shall furnish all supervision, tools, labor, materials, equipment, and transportation necessary for the Replace Electrical Switchgear at the Grand Island Division of the Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care System. Work includes but is not limited to General Construction, Site work, Metals, Wood and Plastic, Thermal and Moisture Protection, Finishes, Specialties, Equipment, Mechanical, and Electrical work, and necessary removal of existing structures. All work shall be performed in accordance with specifications and drawings for Replace/Repair Electrical Distribution Project Number R636-07-305ES-01 at the Department Of Veterans Affairs Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care System, 2201 North Broadwell, Grand Island, NE, and all applicable codes and standards. The project will consist of the replacement of out dated Federal Pacific electrical switchgear, numerous automatic transfer switches, testing of five transformers and replacement of various electrical panels.



Solicitation Number VA-263-09-RA-0263 for this effort will be posted to FedBizOpps (www.fedbizopps.gov) on or about June 12, 2009. This solicitation will contain all necessary specifications, drawings and other information necessary to bid the project.



An Organized Site Visit is tentatively scheduled to be held on June 22, 2009 (see solicitation when available for specific time/date/place).



The Bid Opening is tentatively scheduled to be held on July 17, 2009 (see solicitation when available for specific time/date/place).



The successful bidder will be required to provide Performance and Payment Bonds within 10 calendar days of award notification. The Period of Performance is expected to be 150 calendar days from the issuance of the Notice-to-Proceed.



THIS SOLICITATION IS SET ASIDE FOR SERVICE-DISABLED VETERAN-OWNED SMALL BUSINESSES (SDVOSBs) UNDER PUBLIC LAW 109-461.



Disclosure of the magnitude of construction projects: The estimate of the total project is between $500,000.00 and $1,000,000.00.
