The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Tulsa District, intends to issue a Firm Fixed Price Task Order under one of the Fort Bliss Unrestricted MATOC contracts. This action is funded with American Reinvestment and Recovery Act (ARRA) funds of 2009.
The requirement is to repair Building 730, Snow Hall, which is on the Fort Sill military installation. The existing 3-story facility has an area of work that is approximately 118,010 square feet. Of that, approximately 35,100 square feet are located on the lower level of the facility; approximately 52,020 square feet are located on the main level of the facility; and approximately 30,890 square feet are located on the upper level of the facility.
Major elements of this project:
Provide temporary trailer classrooms for students displaced during renovation.
Evaluate existing classrooms (in Snow Hall) electrically, mechanically (HVAC), and in regard to connectivity (telephone/data).
Renovate classrooms in preparation for reception of future Classroom XXI (CR XXI) packages/suites.
Renovate hallways, staircases and display area.
Renovate latrines. Accommodate a male/female ratio that is approximately 60 percent male and 40 percent female.
Achieve proper temperature regulation in the CR XXI computer server room.
A phased renovation is needed to alleviate the demands associated with displacing all students at one time. As the phased renovation takes place, students within Snow Hall will be displaced. In order to continue instruction for the students, temporary classroom trailers must be staged in the vicinity of Snow Hall.
