Notice text
The San Antonio Channel Improvement Project (SACIP) Mission Reach Ecosystem Restoration and Recreation is located along eight miles of the San Antonio River in San Antonio, Texas. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the San Antonio River Authority are constructing fish and wildlife restoration features within and along the river. The project begins at Lone Star Boulevard and continues downstream to approximately miles south of Interstate Highway 410. This reach of the river was previously altered to provide flood risk management. The Mission Reach project will restore ecosystem functions and provide recreational opportunities while maintaining the existing flood risk management purpose. Features of the project include restoration of pools, riffles, and runs within the river, reconnection of old river remnants, restoration of woodland and prairie plants, and construction of over eight miles of multi-use trail.
