Notice text
Over the years the spillway's approach channel (upstream end embankment) has suffered erosion damage due largely to the constant attack of wind generated waves in combination with a fluctuating reservoir pool level. Proposed work consists of removing all vegetation on the damaged embankment, re-sloping to a 3.5H to 1V slope, and placing geotextile (filter fabric), 6-inch bedding material, and 18-inch graded stone revetment. The Government's estimated quantities for 18-inch riprap and 6-inch bedding material are 2353 tons (1272 cubic yards) and 848 tons (424 cubic yards), respectively. The estimated quantity for geotextile material totals 3054 square yards. Work would be conducted during a time when the reservoir pool level is low enough to preclude placement of materials below the water line. Typically, these pool levels occur in the late summer to late fall months. The Contractor would provide all logistics, materials, and equipment, in order to complete the tasks as well as cleanup.
