Questions and Answers:
1.. Will you consider inpection and cleaning performed by a Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) as an alternative to divers?
Yes
2. Can the reservoirs be drained in order to inspect, clean and disinfect? This is an alternate methodology to diving for inspection and cleaning.
No, the tanks cannot be drained.
3. When was the last time the tanks have been cleaned?
Between 3 to 7 years ago.
4. Can I visit some of the sites where the tanks are? I would like to go up there this week. Will weather be a problem with visitng sites?
Because of the snow storm we recently had, most of the access roads to the tanks are inaccessible and have 3-4 feet of snow. The contractor may be able to access some of the tanks located at the lower elevation, but will need to make arrangements ahead of time to access sites, as they're behind locked gates, or he can walk in to the tank site. Site Inspections can be arranged through: Amy Terry and her email address is aterry@fs.fed.us or phone 909-382-2617.
The closing date remains at February 18, 2010, 2:00 pm, Pacific time
The offers shall be submitted through this www.fbo.gov website.
