RECOVERY - GEOTECHNICAL SITE MEASUREMENTS
The U.S. Department of the Interior, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Earthquake Hazards Team has a requirement to acquire geotechnical engineering data at USGS and USGS-funded seismographic strong-motion recording station sites that describe:
(1) the site surficial geology,(2) the best estimate 1D shear-wave velocity (Vs) profile to a minimum depth of 30 meters (100m depth preferred) and(3) the calculated Vs30 (the average shear-wave velocity in the upper 30m depth from the surface) through the use of non-invasive or nominally-invasive geophysical prospection methods at approximately 250 to 500 station sites located primarily in southern California, secondarily in northern California, and at tertiary sites in the central United States.
The USGS will provide site coordinates for the required sites and will require a firm-fixed price to provide the aforementioned data for each site included in this contract.
The Government anticipates award of a commercial, firm-fixed price (FFP) type contract. The required performance period is anticipated to start approximately 45 days after award through September 2011. The solicitation and any documents/files related to this procurement will be available on the internet on or about 11 Dec 2009. A formal solicitation is not available for release at this time.
This requirement is a Total Small Business Set-Aside. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 541380 and the size standard is $12 million. There is no incumbent contractor. Full funding for requirements to be completed by resultant contract award may utilize funds provided by the Act. Inclusion of unique provisions implementing the Act, including those for significant reporting and transparency requirements by the successful offeror(s), will be required in any resultant contract.
