A/E Design Services for Project #570-09-141
This notice is provided for informational purposes only. The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to award a Task Order to Pauli Engineering, Inc. under VISN 21, VA Central California Health Care System IDIQ contract VA 261-P-0653, IAW department guidelines for recovery projects. This is not an invitation for proposals, it is only being provided for informational purposes per department policies.
The A/E shall perform investigational services, design development, drawings, construction documents, specifications, and cost estimates for all required disciplines for the following:
1) Identify concrete pedestrian pathways (sidewalks/ramps/access) that are non-compliant with Uniform Federal Accessibility Standards (UFAS)
2) Provide plans and specifications as necessary to correct all identified non-compliant concrete pathways and bring the facility in to compliance with current Federal Government (UFAS) standards.
3) Provide design, plans and specifications for an "all weather" canopy system to be installed at the main entrance to Building 1 (south side of the facility). Canopy system will be designed in a manner that allows for the maximum transmission of light through the structure while affording protection from the weather (rain, sun, hail, etc). Canopy will provide a covered walkway access from curbside to the front entrance along three separate pathways; the main steps, the wheelchair ramp and the wheelchair lift.
4) Provide plans and specifications to replace the existing "exposed stone" aggregate concrete immediately in front of the Building 1 main entrance. This work will require the removal of two marble monuments and appropriate designs for reinstallation in an appropriate and lighted location. Design must be phased as necessary to maintain operations of the facility.
5) Provide plans and specifications to demolish existing smoking shelter and smoking shelter related concrete pad and equipment in the Building 1 Atrium, and to refurbish the concrete access through this area.
