THE OBJECTIVE OF THE ADAPTIVE COMBUSTOR PROGRAM FOR HEETE IS TO EXPLORE THE COMBUSTION TECHNOLOGIES NEEDED FOR A COMBUSTOR THAT CAN TAILOR FUEL EFFICIENCY, AS WELL AS NOx, GREEN HOUSE GAS, SMOKE AND PARTICULATE EMISSIONS, ACROSS THE ENGINE OPERATING ENVELOPE FOR ULTRA-EFFICIENT, HIGH-PRESSURE-RATIO ENGINES.
