About this opportunity

Defense Logistics Agency Aviation is conducting a sources-sought notice for a receiver-transmitter component (NSN 7R-5821-015311510-BL, quantity 14 units, FOB origin) that requires Government source approval prior to award. The item is flight-critical and qualifies for sole-source procurement because the approved source retains unique design capability, engineering skills, manufacturing knowledge, and technical data that are not economically available to the Government and are essential to maintaining part quality. Prospective contractors that are not currently approved sources must submit source-approval documentation together with their proposal, including technical data demonstrating production experience with the same or similar item or explaining the company's capability if the item is new to the firm. Approval procedures are subject to design control activity and cognizant Government engineering review and may require extended lead time; award cannot be delayed pending new-source qualification. Additional source-approval requirements and submission guidance are available through NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support business opportunities pages.
