About this opportunity

The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure 20 units of receiver-transmitter equipment under NSN 7R-5821-016868689-QF, reference number 8512400-1, classified as radio and television communication equipment for airborne applications. This procurement requires engineering source approval by the design control activity to maintain part quality, with delivery terms specified as FOB origin. The contract mandates acquisition from approved sources that possess unique design capabilities, specialized engineering skills, and proprietary manufacturing or repair knowledge essential to maintaining part quality standards. Alternative sources must undergo qualification procedures approved by the cognizant Government engineering activity, demonstrating compliance with design control activity requirements. The opportunity has a response deadline of October 10, 2025, providing substantial lead time for potential contractors to prepare their submissions.

This procurement does not utilize any set-aside designations, making it available to all qualified contractors who can meet the stringent source approval requirements. No incumbent contractors or current service providers are specifically identified in the notice. The solicitation does not disclose specific budget ranges or award values for the 20-unit procurement. The technical complexity of the requirement is emphasized by the need for approved sources to retain proprietary data rights, manufacturing knowledge, or technical data that are not economically available to the Government, suggesting this is a specialized, high-value procurement despite the relatively modest quantity of 20 units.
