About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure 30 units of Radio Receiver (NSN 7R-5821-016772665-CC) for repair and modification, with a specific focus on maintaining high-quality technical standards. The procurement requires engineering source approval from the design control activity, emphasizing the critical nature of preserving existing unique design capabilities and manufacturing knowledge. Potential contractors must meet strict qualification requirements and demonstrate the ability to maintain the technical integrity of the part. Interested parties have 45 days from the publication date (until June 30, 2025) to submit proposals, capability statements, or indicate their interest in fulfilling this requirement. The government intends to negotiate with a single source under FAR 6.302-1 authority, with the final award contingent upon meeting specific qualification requirements at the time of contract issuance.
There are no specific set-aside designations for this contract opportunity, and the procurement is open to all responsible sources. The quantity is precisely 30 units, with delivery specified as FOB Origin. While no specific budget range is detailed, the contract will be awarded based on the offeror's ability to meet stringent technical qualifications and maintain the essential engineering and manufacturing knowledge for the radio receiver. The government has explicitly stated it will not use FAR Part 12 policies for commercial items, indicating a highly specialized procurement approach. Potential contractors have an additional 15-day window to propose commercial item alternatives, though the primary focus remains on meeting the technical specifications and qualification requirements established by the Naval Supply Systems Command.
