About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Reserve Command awarded a sole-source contract to Harrison Concepts, LLC on July 10, 2026 for Rapid Expeditionary (REX) Kits, specialized aircraft maintenance equipment tailored to support combat aircraft during contingency operations.
The contract value is $46,868.17. AFRC coordinated a combined purchase agreement for REX kits across multiple installations with combat airlift missions, then allocated funds to each installation to execute their own contract while tailoring acquisitions to specific mission requirements. This award was made without a set-aside. The acquisition proceeded as sole source to maintain continuity of this specialized equipment across the command. AFRC noted limited commercial availability of comparable REX Kits through standard market research channels; the most valuable intelligence came from aircraft maintainers at other installations already using the equipment. The agency indicated that as the REX Kits concept gains adoption across installations, additional vendors are likely to enter the market with comparable products, supporting future competitive acquisitions.
Notice text
AFRC/A4 coordinated a combined purchase agreement with Harrison Concepts for the acquisition of REX kits across multiple installations with combat airlift missions. AFRC then allocated funds to each installation to execute their own contract to procure these kits while tailoring the acquisition to their specific mission requirements. Under this broader AFRC program, this purchase will be made as a sole source acquisition to maintain the continuity of this specialized aircraft maintenance equipment across the command. Given the unique nature of this new and evolving concept of REX Kits, there was very little information available via open Internet searches for this specific product. While many companies make wheeled/mobile toolkits, these kits are specifically tailored to support combat aircraft during contingency operations. The most valuable market research information came from aircraft maintainers at other installation who are already using this equipment. As the concept of these REX Kits gains momentum and more installations begin acquiring them, it is likely that additional vendors will begin producing comparable products that meet the requirements of this unique aircraft support equipment. Ongoing market research in this area should help identify additional sources/vendors for future acquisitions.
Awarded contract FA665626P0009 to HARRISON CONCEPTS, LLC for 46868.17 on 2026-07-10.
