About this opportunity

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requires Nationwide Radiation Dosimetry Support Services to minimize the occupational exposure of workers to ionizing radiation. The contract will be a firm fixed price with a 13-month Base Period and Four (4) 1-Year Option Periods, starting from November 1, 2023. The anticipated solicitation release date is on or about August 23, 2023.

Services and products to be provided:

  1. Radiation Dosimetry Support Services
  2. Personnel monitoring for radiation safety
  3. Comprehensive radiation dosimetry badge program
  4. Routine daily work and emergency response-related activities
  5. Assurance of EPA workers’ levels of exposure to ionizing radiation are “as low as reasonably achievable”.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Office of Mission Support, has a requirement for Nationwide Radiation Dosimetry Support Services as outlined in the attached DRAFT Performance Work Statement. The purpose of the EPA Radiation Safety and Health Protection Program is to minimize the occupational exposure of workers to ionizing radiation during both routine daily work and emergency response-related activities. EPA strives to assure that EPA workers’ levels of exposure to ionizing radiation are “as low as reasonably achievable” and do not exceed the quarterly, annual and lifetime limits established by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission. A cornerstone of the radiation safety program is personnel monitoring which primarily encompasses a comprehensive radiation dosimetry badge program for appropriate EPA employees.

This acquisition is being conducted as Full and Open Competition in accordance with FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Products and Commercial Services, and FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures. It is anticipated the resulting single award contract will be firm fixed price with a 13-month Base Period and Four (4) 1-Year Option Periods. The base period of performance is anticipated to begin November 1, 2023. The anticipated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 541380 – TESTING LABORATORIES AND SERVICES with a size standard of $19M. The government intends to evaluate proposals and make award without discussions. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which will be considered by the Agency. The anticipated solicitation release date is on or about August 23, 2023.
