About this opportunity
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), National Urban Security Technology Laboratory (NUSTL) is seeking information on commercially available Radiation Detection Backpacks for the DHS Science and Technology Directorate's System Assessment and Validation for Emergency Responders (SAVER) program. This information is being gathered through a Request for Information (RFI) to assist response organizations in equipment selection and procurement. The RFI specifies that the radiation detection backpacks must meet certain criteria, including the ability to measure gamma and neutron radiation, identify radionuclides, be person-portable, operate on battery power, and provide real-time electronic interface and alerts. Responses to the RFI will be used to develop a Market Survey Report on Radiation Detection Backpacks, and the deadline for submitting responses is August 23, 2024.
There is no set-aside designation for this opportunity, and the government has not identified any potential incumbents or current contractors. The RFI does not provide any information about award values or budget ranges, and the quantity of goods or timeline for services is not specified. The purpose of the RFI is to gather market information, and the government will not pay for any costs associated with responding.
