About this opportunity
The Naval Supply Weapons System Support (NAVSUP WSS) Nuclear Directorate has issued a Request for Information (RFI) for a Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) focused on Radiological Containment (RADCON) products for naval nuclear propulsion plants. This RFI is specifically targeted at small businesses interested in becoming suppliers for the Navy's nuclear reactor component procurement. The agency is responsible for logistics and sustainment support to the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program, with a specific focus on provisioning, procurement, and quality assurance of components within the secondary system of naval nuclear reactors. The opportunity is categorized under the NAICS code 333998 for miscellaneous general purpose machinery manufacturing and involves products across multiple Federal Supply Class codes. The RFI was posted on December 17, 2024, with responses due by January 17, 2025.
The primary objective of this RFI is to conduct market research and identify qualified small business concerns capable of supplying nuclear reactor RADCON products through a competitive BPA. Interested contractors must submit responses in Microsoft Word format, limited to 25 pages and under 5MB, directly to Contract Specialist Casey Stump. Eligibility is restricted to small businesses with demonstrated past performance in high-quality valve and valve piece parts over the previous 12 months. The BPA will have individual purchase limits not exceeding $250,000, and potential suppliers must meet rigorous quality assurance requirements, including compliance with military specifications like ISO 9000, MIL-I-45208, and MIL-Q-9858. Contractors will be subject to a comprehensive pre-award survey process and must demonstrate capability in working with government e-business systems. The RFI includes detailed information about nuclear reactor plant systems and expects respondents to provide extensive documentation showcasing their technical and quality management capabilities.
