About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Air Systems Command has published a Special Notice for the repair of Radar Signal Simulators. The notice indicates the intent to award a Firm Fixed Price Purchase Order to Harris Corporation, the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of the Radar Signal Simulator units, on a sole source basis.
The purpose of the Special Notice is to provide an opportunity for other responsible sources to submit capability statements within 3 calendar days, which the government will consider to determine if a competitive procurement is feasible without impacting the requirement. The Radar Signal Simulators are used to test the radar equipment on various Navy and Marine Corps aircraft, and the repair services are necessary to return the units to operational condition and ensure fleet readiness. The Special Notice outlines the justification for the sole source award to Harris Corporation, as they are the OEM and retain the necessary proprietary/technical data rights to perform the approved and necessary repairs.
