About this opportunity

Defense Logistics Agency Aviation anticipates procuring radar set subassemblies (NSN 7R-5841-014906729-QE) under a sole-source basis with a due date of October 22, 2026. The Government requires source approval prior to award because the item is flight critical and existing technical data is insufficient to support full and open competition; only previously Government-approved sources have been solicited.

The requirement covers six units, FOB origin delivery. Offerors who are not already approved sources must submit source approval documentation alongside their proposals using the applicable NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support (NAVSUP WSS) Source Approval Information Brochure (available for spares or repair at navsup.navy.mil). Offerors with source approval requests currently under NAVSUP WSS evaluation must include a copy of the cover letter forwarding that request with their offer. Proposals lacking all required source approval data will not be considered.

The Government notes that the time required for new source approval typically prevents award delay pending such approval, and that if source approval evaluation cannot complete within the procurement timeline, the Government may be unable to obtain the items to meet its operational requirements. Incumbent suppliers or those with demonstrated production experience for the same or similar items should reference that history in source approval submissions. Additional guidance and submission requirements are available through the NAVSUP WSS business opportunities portal.
