About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs, specifically the Veterans Integrated Service Network 05 (VISN 05), is seeking on-site American Sign Language (ASL) interpreting services for hearing-impaired VA employees across all VISN 05 medical centers. The procurement will focus on live, in-person translation services to support communication needs within VA facilities located in Washington, DC and surrounding areas. Market research has been conducted to validate the availability of qualified providers, and the Network Contracting Office 05 (NCO 05) has determined that multiple Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Businesses (SDVOSB) with active GSA contracts can likely meet the requirement. The solicitation will be posted on GSA eBuy, with responses due by February 14, 2025, at 10:00 AM Central Time. The contracting point of contact is Robert O'Keefe Jr., who can be reached at robert.okeefejr@va.gov for any questions related to the opportunity.

The contract is exclusively set aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB), aligning with the Veterans First Contracting Program. The procurement will utilize NAICS code 541930 for Translation and Interpretation Services and PSC code R608 for Administrative Support Translation and Interpreting. While specific award values were not disclosed in the pre-solicitation notice, the requirement encompasses ASL interpreting services across multiple medical centers within VISN 05. Potential offerors must have an active GSA contract and demonstrate the capability to provide comprehensive, live interpreting services that meet the VA's communication accessibility requirements. The solicitation suggests the government anticipates receiving multiple competitive quotes from qualified SDVOSB providers who can deliver high-quality, on-site ASL interpretation services at a fair and reasonable price.
