About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has issued a Special Notice announcing its intent to sole source the procurement of healthcare accreditation services for its Veterans Health Administration (VHA) medical facilities, ambulatory care facilities, consolidated mail outpatient pharmacies, and opioid treatment programs. The VA has been accredited by The Joint Commission, located in Oakbrook Terrace, IL, for over 40 years, and the agency intends to negotiate a sole source contract with The Joint Commission, as market research has found no other vendor can provide the unique set of accreditation services required.

The purpose of this procurement is to acquire accreditation services for the VA's healthcare facilities and programs. The accreditation services must be approved by the Substance Abuse and Mental Healthcare Services Administration (SAMHSA), recognized by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), and cover all required disciplines. The VA is requesting information from any vendors that believe they can meet these requirements in the future, and vendors should provide a capability statement and information on their socioeconomic and business size status. Responses are due by November 15, 2024 at 1:00 PM Eastern Time.
