About this opportunity
The U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center seeks the purchase of one Electro-Magnetic Gradiometer Sensing System Hardware device, with quotes due September 11, 2026 at 1:00 PM Central Standard Time. The procurement is 100% set-aside for Women-Owned Small Businesses (WOSB) under NAICS 334511, with a size standard of 1,350 employees.
Place of performance is Vicksburg, Mississippi. The EMG-SSH must be a rugged, man-carry system sensitive between 50kHz–750kHz capable of detecting magnetic fields in the picotesla range for subsurface conductor detection and mapping. The system shall include a disassemblable boom approximately 1.75 meters long fitting a 32-by-21-by-13-inch pelican case, differential receiver electronics with at least two programmable channels, matched dipole antenna pairs tuned to 50kHz–750kHz (no longer than 18 inches), two Bren-Tronics BB-2590/U lithium-ion batteries with chargers, a Trimble SPS 852 GPS navigation receiver capable of sub-20-centimeter accuracy, a small tablet with data acquisition software, a rugged laptop (Panasonic FZ-55 or similar), staging tripods, and a backpack support system. Total system weight must not exceed 30 pounds. Deliverables include system design drawings, assembly/disassembly manual, operation manual, software manual, and in-person training at Vicksburg.
Delivery must occur within six months of award (estimated March 30, 2027) on FOB Destination with all shipping costs included in the vendor's quote. Acceptance testing requires the system to detect secondary fields from long conductors (>100 meters) at distances of 10 meters or greater. Payment is contingent on successful delivery, testing, and government acceptance. Evaluation weighs technical acceptability and price, with HUBZone small business concerns receiving a 10% price evaluation preference unless waived. This is a simplified acquisition single award purchase order governed by FAR 12.
