About this opportunity
The U.S. Coast Guard Surface Forces Logistics Center is soliciting quotations for four units of a specific centrifugal pump assembly, designated NSN 4320-01-241-7284, manufactured by Wilo USA LLC (Scott Pump). The pump unit is a Type 18B close-coupled model with a 5 HP motor operating at 3450 RPM with marine-duty specifications (220/440 VAC, 60 Hz, 3 Phase), Navy M bronze construction with a Monel stub shaft, and a maximum discharge flow rate of 130 GPM at 39 PSIG and 85 feet total head. Critical contract requirements include strict adherence to packaging, packing, and marking (PP&M) standards per MIL-STD-2073-1E Method 10 with double-wall fiberboard boxes, bar coding compliance using Code 39 symbology per ISO/IEC-16388-2007, and marking per MIL-STD-129R, with vendors explicitly required to certify their ability to meet these requirements in their price quotes. Failure to comply with PP&M and bar-coding specifications will result in rejection and potential return of items, delaying payment. The solicitation was posted on December 9, 2025, with quotations due by December 12, 2025, providing vendors only three days to prepare and submit responsive proposals.
This procurement carries no set-aside designation and represents a commercial item acquisition. The delivery location is the USCG Surface Forces Logistics Center in Baltimore, Maryland (2401 Hawkins Point Road, Building 88A Receiving Room), with F.O.B. Destination terms, meaning the vendor is responsible for all shipping costs and risks until delivery. The requirement specifies four units of the identical pump assembly, with deliveries required Monday through Friday between 7:00 A.M. and 1:00 P.M. EST. No budget range or award value has been disclosed in the solicitation notice, and the specific part number B57018X513F050CG indicates this is for direct replacement on the 210 WMEC air conditioning system's raw water pump unit. The commercial nature of this item and the compressed three-day timeline suggest the Coast Guard is seeking urgent fulfillment of an existing operational requirement.
