About this opportunity

The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure a Centrifugal Pump Unit with National Stock Number 7H-4320-014540867-A3, specifically for repair or modification purposes. The quantity required is one unit, with delivery specified as FOB Origin. Due to proprietary data constraints, the government has determined it is uneconomical to purchase data rights or reverse engineer the part, leading to a potential single-source procurement under FAR 6.302-1 authority. All responsible sources are invited to demonstrate their interest and capability to respond to the requirement, with proposals, quotations, or capability statements welcome. Interested parties have 45 days from the publication date (or 30 days if awarded under an existing Basic Ordering Agreement) to submit their responses, with the understanding that the government retains sole discretion in determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.

The pre-solicitation notice indicates no specific set-aside designations for this contract opportunity. The procurement is categorized under Product Service Code 4320-P for Power and Hand Pumps, suggesting specialized equipment requirements. While the exact award value is not specified, the single-unit procurement implies a potentially limited scope and budget. The opportunity was posted on January 24, 2025, with a response deadline of February 23, 2025, providing potential vendors approximately 30 days to prepare and submit their capabilities. The contract appears focused on a very specific technical requirement, with the government explicitly stating that information received will primarily be used to assess potential competitive procurement options.
