About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure 52 units of fuel metering pumps for repair and modification services under NSN 7R-2915-014545723-QE. This procurement falls under the Engine Fuel System Components category for aircraft and missile prime movers and will be conducted using FAR Part 12 commercial acquisition procedures with delivery FOB origin. The contract requires engineering source approval by the design control activity due to the flight-critical nature of the components and the specialized engineering skills, manufacturing knowledge, and data rights retained by approved sources. Only previously government-approved sources have been solicited since qualification of new sources typically requires extensive time that would delay contract award. Interested parties have 15 days from the October 16, 2025 posting date to identify their interest and capability, with the final due date set for November 30, 2025.
This opportunity does not utilize any set-aside designations and will proceed through full and open competition among pre-approved sources only. The procurement specifies a quantity of 52 units (EA) for the fuel metering pump repair and modification services. Any potential contractors not currently on the approved source list must submit detailed qualification information through NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support source approval procedures, though the timeline constraints make new source approval unlikely for this particular solicitation. The government maintains that existing approved sources possess unique design capabilities and technical data that are not economically available elsewhere, making source approval essential for maintaining component quality and safety standards.
