About this opportunity
The Defense Logistics Agency at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama is conducting market research to identify qualified manufacturing and supply sources for a fuel electrical pump (NSN 2910-01-466-9681, Part Number HM022-400) in support of the Chinook weapon system, with a sources-sought response deadline of October 9, 2026. This is a pre-solicitation notice only; no solicitation is currently available, and requests for one will not receive responses.
The acquisition is being pursued under FAR 6.302-1(a)(1) based on limited responsible sources; the Government lacks adequate technical data, cannot obtain it economically, and cannot draft adequate specifications for competitive procurement. The proposed NAICS code is 336310 (small parts manufacturing for motor vehicles) with a 1,050-employee size standard. DLA is evaluating whether future competitive or small-business set-aside procurement is feasible and welcomes participation from 8(a), small business, small disadvantaged business, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, HUBZone, and Women-Owned small business concerns. All potential contractors must meet prequalification requirements and register as approved sources through the Army Materiel Research, Development and Engineering Center (AvMC) source approval process, accessible via https://amrdec.army.afpims.mil/Directives/STI/. Firms demonstrating manufacturing capability and ability to comply with special requirements are encouraged to submit source identification information to establish eligibility for future solicitations.
