About this opportunity

The National Park Service (NPS) Midwest Region is conducting a market survey to assess contractor interest and capability for renovation and build-out work at Pullman National Historical Park in Chicago, Illinois. The project scope includes building out the second floor to enhance education and community outreach capabilities, designing the third floor for storage and potential partner leasing, and implementing various system improvements including elevator installation, HVAC expansion, restroom construction, and finishes such as flooring, ceilings, painting, lighting, electrical, fire alarm, and sprinkler modifications. Prospective contractors must be registered as small businesses under NAICS code 236220 (Commercial and Institutional Building Construction) in the System for Award Management (SAM), and should evaluate their construction bonding capacities prior to responding. The contracting officer will use responses to this market survey to determine the final acquisition strategy. This opportunity is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside, limiting competition to small businesses meeting the 236220 NAICS code size standard of $45.0 million. No specific award value or budget range is disclosed in this pre-solicitation notice, as the market survey is intended to inform the contracting officer's acquisition planning rather than establish binding commitments. The specific timeline for project execution is not provided in the notice; however, interested contractors should understand that this is a preliminary solicitation designed to gauge market capability before formal competitive bidding occurs. Costs associated with responding to this market survey are the responsibility of interested firms, and submission is entirely voluntary with no guarantee of future procurement action.
