About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure five aircraft repair and modification units for a specific National Stock Number (NSN 7R-1680-015929276-E7). The procurement is currently limited to Raytheon Company (4U884), which is deemed the only qualified source with the necessary technical data to repair, test, and certify these Critical Application Items (CAI). Potential alternate sources must qualify through rigorous Design Control Activity (DCA) procedures approved by NAVAIR/NAVSUP WSS Source Development Department before contract award. Interested parties must submit comprehensive technical data and qualification documentation according to NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support Source Approval Information Brochures. The opportunity is currently in pre-solicitation status, with proposals being accepted until March 10, 2025, and the government will consider all submissions received within 45 days of publication.
This procurement is not set aside for any specific business category and will be negotiated under FAR 6.302-1 authority, which allows for single-source procurement. The contract will be awarded via FOB Origin delivery, with Raytheon Company currently identified as the sole capable repair source due to their unique engineering capabilities and proprietary technical knowledge. While the exact award value is not specified, the procurement involves five units of a specialized aircraft component requiring extensive technical expertise. The government has indicated that if source approval evaluations cannot be processed in time to meet requirements, they may proceed with award based on fleet support needs. Potential vendors must demonstrate technical competence, provide comprehensive documentation, and comply with strict qualification procedures outlined in the NAVSUP Source Approval Information Brochures to be considered for this critical military procurement.
