About this opportunity
The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head Division (NSWC IHD) is conducting a sources sought synopsis for mechanical proximity fuzes to support the Navy/Marine Corps, Army, and Air Force. Specifically, the agency is seeking contractors to produce proximity fuze variants for current 2.75 inch rockets. Interested sources must provide comprehensive documentation including their facility clearance level, quality management system certification, company brochure, organizational details, point of contact information, business size, taxpayer identification number, DUNS number, and CAGE Code. The pre-solicitation notice requires all potential sources to submit their responses via email to Katy Gates by April 9, 2025, at the specified email address. While this is a market survey and not a formal solicitation, it represents an initial step in exploring potential contractors for future procurement of proximity fuze manufacturing capabilities.
No specific set-aside categories have been designated for this opportunity, and the synopsis does not indicate award values or incumbent contractors. The procurement will fall under the Ammunition Manufacturing (NAICS 332993) and Fuzes and Primers (PSC 1390) categories. The government has explicitly stated that this market survey does not constitute a binding commitment and reserves the right to reject any or all submissions without further notification. Potential respondents should note that this is an information-gathering exercise, and no direct award will result from this synopsis. The broad requirements suggest the government is seeking multiple variants of mechanical proximity fuzes to support various military branches, indicating a potentially significant manufacturing contract in the future.
