About this opportunity
The U.S. Army is initiating a new acquisition program for add-on protection kits for ground combat vehicles. The kits consist of fabricated nylon canvas bags containing a fill and lightweight polyethylene foam configuration specific to each hatch of each ground combat platform. The Army is assessing the market to inform a potential production contract for award in fiscal year 2026, with a potential requirement exceeding 1,500 kits. The government owns the technical data packages and would provide them to prospective vendors. Key requirements include delivering the initial kits within 10 months of contract award and no later than December 2027, as well as performing first article testing.
There is no set-aside designation for this opportunity. The government has not provided information on any potential incumbents or current contractors. While a specific award value or budget range was not disclosed, the Army noted the potential requirement could exceed 1,500 kits. Vendors would be required to source and use long-life reusable containers to ship the kits to multiple locations.
