About this opportunity

The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking a sole-source procurement for propeller repair and modification, specifically for NSN 7R-1610-008871944-BP, with a quantity of 4 units. The contract requires engineering source approval by the design control activity, focusing on maintaining part quality through specialized manufacturing and repair knowledge. Potential contractors must submit detailed information from the NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support Source Approval Brochure, with proposals due by May 19, 2025. Only sources previously approved by the Government for this flight-critical item will be considered, and any new sources must undergo a rigorous qualification process approved by the cognizant Government engineering activity. The government will evaluate proposals based on the contractor's ability to meet strict technical and qualification requirements, with a determination of competition being solely at the government's discretion.

This is a non-set-aside contract opportunity subject to Free Trade Agreements and the World Trade Organization Government Procurement Agreement. The repair turnaround time will be measured from the asset's return to the date of asset acceptance, with contractors required to report transactions within five business days. While specific award values are not disclosed, the solicitation indicates a focused procurement for a specialized aerospace component. The contract will potentially involve complex technical qualifications, with proposals needing to demonstrate precise engineering capabilities and manufacturing expertise specific to aircraft propeller components. Interested parties have 45 days from the publication date to submit their capabilities, with the government reserving the right to proceed with the current source if no viable alternatives are identified.
