About this opportunity
The US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Savannah District, is conducting market research for the construction of a new Dexter Elementary School at Fort Moore, Georgia. The project involves replacing the existing school facility with a two-story, 21st Century Elementary School designed to accommodate 600 students and 59 staff members. The proposed facility will include comprehensive educational spaces such as instructional areas, special education facilities, staff collaboration zones, administrative suites, and support infrastructure. USACE is seeking to identify potential contractors with capabilities in construction specialty trade services, with the possibility of setting aside the contract for small businesses based on market research responses. The Request for Information (RFI) responses are due by April 2, 2025, at 5:00 PM EDT, submitted exclusively through an online survey form, with telephone inquiries explicitly prohibited.
The contract opportunity is currently not set aside for any specific small business category, but all small business set-aside options are under consideration. The project is estimated to cost between $100-250 million, with a performance period of 1,460 calendar days following the Notice to Proceed. The construction will require building approximately 117,000 square feet of facilities, including site improvements such as 120 parking spaces, outdoor play areas, utilities infrastructure, and anti-terrorism/force protection features. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 236220, with a size standard of $45 million. Importantly, the government emphasizes that this RFI is for information purposes only, does not constitute a formal solicitation, and respondents will not receive feedback on their submissions. Potential offerors are advised to monitor the Governmentwide Point of Entry (GPE) for future solicitation details.
