Update #2 · Latest ·
The Army Contracting Command, New Jersey (ACC-NJ), on behalf of the Program Manager (PM) DoD Biometrics, intends to extend the period of performance and increase value of an existing order by modification under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 16.505(b)(2)(i)(C), Justification for Exception to Fair Opportunity, Logical Follow-on. The order must be issued on a sole source basis in the interest of economy and efficiency; because it is a logical follow-on to an order issued under the contract, provided that all awardees were given a fair opportunity to be considered for the original order. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements at this time ensuring uninterrupted service by Leidos Inc., 1710 SAIC Dr, McLean, VA 22102-3701. This award is to provide enduring biometrics capabilities to DoD and its mission partners and enable identification of individuals in support of national security. The contract provides software engineering support and support to peripheral devices/platforms to support the current Joint Personnel Identification (JPI) Quick Reaction Capability (QRC) Systems under PMO DoD Biometrics. This action will result in a Firm Fixed Price, Cost Reimbursable and Cost-Plus-Fixed-Fee (CPFF) task order modification to extend the period of performance for nine (9) months plus two (2) three (3) month option terms, and to increase W91QUZ-06-D-0016/2T02 ceiling value by approximately $20M, if options are exercised by the Government. The NAICS code for this requirement is 541512 with a size standard of $25M. This notice of intent to extend the task order is not a request for competitive proposals. Phone calls will not be accepted. The point of contact for this action is Contract Specialist, Carmel Costa who can be contacted via Email: carmel.m.costa.civ@mail.mil.
Note: This notice is not a competitive request for proposals. A competitive solicitation will not be issued. The Government will give consideration to interested parties that identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement, or submit proposals by the response date of this notice. The Government intends to award this action on or before 14 August 2014.
