About this opportunity
NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) is seeking teaming partners to serve as the satellite (spacecraft) integrator for a Heliophysics Medium Explorer (MIDEX) mission. The selected partner will be responsible for providing a spacecraft bus, instrument to spacecraft integration and environmental testing support, integration support for the observatory to launch vehicle, and optional mission operations support. The proposed mission is currently in pre-Phase A, and the next steps include a mission concept study and Concept Study Report, followed by a down-select in July 2027. NASA will evaluate responses based on technical approach, relevant experience, and cost/schedule factors, with a target Announcement of Opportunity release in July 2025 and a target launch readiness date of January 2032. The cost cap for this AO is $300M (FY25$), excluding launch vehicle, and NASA will provide partial funding for the Phase A concept study.
This pre-solicitation notice does not indicate any set-aside designations, and no potential incumbents or current contractors are named. The exact award value or budget range is not specified, but the cost cap for the AO is $300M (FY25$), excluding launch vehicle. The key numerical details include the target Announcement of Opportunity release in July 2025 and the target launch readiness date of January 2032.
