About this opportunity
The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Troop Support Medical Supply Chain is conducting a Request for Information (RFI) to identify small business manufacturers and distributors of an ultrasonic probe diagnostic medical device. The specific product is a convex array probe compatible with multiple ultrasound systems, intended for abdominal, obstetrics, and gynecology applications. This RFI is designed to perform market research and gather information about potential suppliers of medical imaging equipment under NAICS code 334510. The agency is seeking comprehensive capability statements from small businesses that can provide detailed information about their manufacturing or distribution capabilities. Responses must be submitted via email to ryan.sullivan@dla.mil by March 21, 2025, and are limited to three pages, with specific requirements including company details, business size, CAGE code, contact information, and production capabilities.
The RFI is not a formal solicitation and does not guarantee future business opportunities, but focuses on identifying small business sources for medical equipment. All potential manufacturers must be compliant with Buy American Act (BAA) requirements and have FDA-approved products. The ultrasonic probe unit being sought has specific technical specifications, including a convex transducer with active array technology, 80-degree field of view, and bandwidth of 1-6 MHz. Responses must demonstrate the ability to manage product shelf-life, with overseas customers requiring a minimum 12-month shelf life. The agency is particularly interested in suppliers' experience with medical product manufacturing, storage, distribution, and their capacity to deliver products both domestically and internationally. Large businesses are explicitly excluded from this market research effort, which underscores the DLA's commitment to supporting small business participation in federal contracting.
