About this opportunity
The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), an agency within the Department of the Navy, has published a Special Notice providing private sector workload forecasts for fiscal years 2026 through 2029. This notice distributes domestic workload estimates to continental United States (CONUS) industry partners regarding ship maintenance demand across five regional maintenance centers: Mid-Atlantic, Southwest, Southeast, Northwest, and Hawaii. The document, dated February 1, 2026, is classified for public release with unlimited distribution and serves as an informational tool rather than a formal solicitation. The workload forecasts include modernization estimates while excluding Advanced Industrial Technology (AIT) initiatives. The Navy emphasizes that all schedules are subject to change based on operational commitments, industry manning impacts, and ongoing budget negotiations.
This Special Notice has been issued solely for planning and informational purposes to assist contractors in understanding aggregate ship maintenance demand and availability schedules; it does not constitute a request for information, request for proposals, or any commitment to contract work. There are no specific requirements, instructions, or eligibility criteria for contractors to participate, as this is an informational release rather than a competitive opportunity. The Government will not compensate any contractors for effort expended in response to this announcement. The notice does not establish deadlines for contractor submissions or actions. The Navy indicates that subsequent bi-monthly workload projections will be released no later than April 30, 2026, with future updates posted on SAM.gov for ongoing industry awareness and planning purposes.
