About this opportunity
The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Defense Sciences Office is sponsoring a Proposers Day on July 27, 2026, to brief potential proposers on the Precision Inertial Navigation & Positioning On an Integrated Tesseract (PINPOINT) program ahead of an anticipated Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) expected in July 2026. The in-person event runs 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time in Arlington, Virginia, with simultaneous webcast access; advance registration is required for both. In-person attendance is capped at 136 registrants with a maximum of five individuals per organization, while webcast access accommodates up to 350 individuals. Registration for in-person attendance closes July 20, 2026, and for webcast access closes July 23, 2026. Non-U.S. citizens must submit DARPA Form 60 or an Official Visit Request by July 13, 2026.
PINPOINT targets development of next-generation micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS) Inertial Measurement Units (IMUs) capable of precise positioning during multi-hour missions in GPS-denied environments by exploiting nonlinear electro-mechanics, electromagnetically levitated proof masses, and advanced adaptive control systems. The program seeks to enable tactical munitions and unmanned systems to operate as resilient, all-weather platforms with assured positioning and navigation independent of external signals.
Attendees may submit one-page teaming profiles by July 30, 2026, present digital posters (submitted by July 22, 2026), or deliver 5-minute Lightning Talks (single PDF slide by July 22, 2026). Attendance is voluntary and not required to propose to the BAA. DARPA will not reimburse participation costs, and recording is prohibited.
