About this opportunity
The 496th Air Base Squadron at Moron Air Base, Spain, intends to award a sole-source, firm-fixed-price contract to L3Harris Technologies for a Command and Control system equipment upgrade, with a pre-solicitation notice due date of July 1, 2026.
The Government requires a fully compatible C2 system upgrade including proprietary hardware, software, integration support, and configuration to maintain interoperability with existing fielded systems, ensure secure communications, and achieve seamless integration with current C2 infrastructure. L3Harris is identified as the original equipment manufacturer and only known source capable of meeting the Government's precise operational, interoperability, and proprietary software requirements; market research indicates no other vendor can provide the required hardware, software, and integration support combination without unacceptable cost duplication, schedule delays, or mission capability degradation.
The acquisition will be conducted under FAR 12.201-1 simplified procedures as implemented by the Revolutionary FAR Overhaul, based on a determination that only one responsible source is reasonably available. Work is performed at Moron Air Base, Spain. Technical points of contact are TSgt Ryan Hopkin and SSgt Mata at the 496 ABS Contracting Office; email inquiries should be directed to ryan.hopkin@us.af.mil or vida.mata@us.af.mil.
